Feb 15 Community Update : Weather situation and Boats dragging their moorings
Weather situation and Boats dragging their moorings Residents in the bay will be well aware of the high winds and rough seas we are currently experiencing. Two boats moored on their anchors have dragged. Sea Dog, a ferro cement launch plus a 28ft launch with a 'For Sale' sign on the side. These boats are now in close proximity to the main boat ramp, in danger of being washed up on the beach. The Police and Harbour Master have been alerted. If one of these boats belongs to you, or you know the owner, please contact the Harbour Master immediately on (09) 3620397. Stay safe everyone. Update: Thanks to the help from Dave Ormandy for securing SeaDog to prevent damage to the boat and potential fuel contamination in the bay. This is the second time Dave has stepped forward to secure a boat during stormy conditions. We are sure owners appreciate Dave's concern for fellow boaties.
